Easton

Easton

Easton is the home of those beloved accoutrements of children everywhere: Crayola crayons. Visitors young and old can tour the Crayola factory for a colorful peek at how crayons are made. Canal buffs can check out the National Canal Museum and the mule-drawn boat, Josiah White II, in the Lehigh Canal. Surveyed in the 1750s by William Parsons and Nicholas Scull, this town at the forks of the Lehigh and Delaware Rivers was the site of one of only three readings of the Declaration of Independence, which took place on July 8, 1776. Easton celebrates this event annually on Heritage Day with reenactments and fireworks. Easton's historic downtown and waterfront parks make this town a great destination.
