The Philadelphia Zoo’s 42-acre Victorian garden is home to more than 1,300 animals, many of them rare and
endangered. The Philadelphia Zoo, fulfilling its mission of conservation, science, education and recreation, supports and
engages in conservation efforts to protect endangered species around the world. Cheetahs, hippos, giraffes and
much more make the Zoo Philadelphia's leading family attraction. Visit the Philadelphia Zoo's state-of-the-art PECO Primate
Reserve to see gorillas, colobus monkeys, ruffed lemurs and more. Soar 400 feet above the city on the Channel 6
Zooballoon® or take a virtual African photo safari on Dodge Wild Earth™. The Philadelphia Zoo seasonally offers the Tastykake
Children’s Zoo, giant Swan Boat rides and Birds of Australia, where kids can feed nectar to brilliantly colored
lorikeets. Guests can check the Zoo map, printed daily, for animal feedings and keeper talks.

Special Events
• Throughout the year, the Philadelphia Zoo hosts special public events that are free with Philadelphia
Zoo admission. There are also a variety of paid workshops, kids summer
camps, adult programs and behind-the-scenes opportunities with our
keepers. Check the Philadelphia Zoo’s website for updates on days and times.
• Adults can also join the Philadelphia Zoo for one of Philadelphia’s hippest parties, Zoobilee.
Held the second Thursday evening each June, Zoobilee features fantastic food
from the region’s finest restaurants and caterers, live entertainment, a raffle
with fabulous prizes and special animal demonstrations. Don’t forget the kids!
Families flock to the kid-friendly equivalent of Zoobilee, the Razzle Dazzle
Friends Picnic, in July.
